In August 2017 I decided to buy a 100% electric car due to several reasons mostly concerning fuel and engine servicing savings, road licence and the introduction for the first time of a 5000euro grant offered by the government on second hand electric cars. The criteria for eligibility to the grant were that the car must not be not more than 24 months registered in UK and not more than 12000km.
Jonathan did the research required for theses specifications and he found an ex demonstration model which the Nissan Birmingham agent used for customers to test drive the car.
This model has a 24kwh battery has a real life range of 150km and can be charged up at home using a normal 13amp plug in around 5 to 7 hours depending on the percentage charge of the battery
I am very happy with the car. Driving is so simple and smooth and the steering is effortless since the electric motor is lighter than a normal combustion engine. The ride is comfortable and throttle response is instant since it’s an electric engine and torque is available straight away the moment you press the accelerator pedal.
No payment for CVA is charged in Valletta 24/7. Priority lanes like bus lanes can be used any time even if you are on your own in the car.
Servicing of the car is at very low cost since no changing of engine oil and filters is required.
The main advantages of owning an electric car is that the yearly road tax is at a fixed price irrespective of the age and power of the car at only 10euro per year!!!
This car was in perfect condition bought to order by one of Malta's finest athletes. In 2010 I decided to import a sports car from the U.K and had spoken to Jonathan. Looking up on Autotrader.co.uk I found several models with the specs I wanted, but since it was a sports car there was a risk of the car being driven hard and abused. Unfortunately the first 2 cars I sent to Jonathan had problems with incorrect history and log book problems. On the 3rd attempt the car turned out to be good in all aspects as regards service history , engine and body condition. The car arrived exactly as described after his inspection in the U.K
In 2016 I sold the car to get a more modern model an Audi A5. since the service provided by Jonathan was so positive I decided to use him again.
